What Does Your Tour Guide Do On Their Day Off?
Breakwater Adventures was founded on the idea that we could bring the best of Marco Island to our customers in a way that nobody else could. After years working in watersports, we noticed a discrepancy between the tourist experiences available, and the way that we chose to spend our own time on the water. So we designed our own perfect beach day with family and friends and we made it available to you without the hassle of planning or preparing.
How Will You Design Your Perfect Vacation Day?
We'll set the stage with plenty of seating and shade on a secluded island. We'll provide beach toys and games as well as a large cooler with ice and water. You can kick back and relax, swim or search for sand dollars. Your party will have access to our boats and captains all day to go tubing, wakeboarding and waterskiing or explore the area by boat to discover the gorgeous scenery and wildlife that make Marco Island truly unique.
The result is the perfect balance of luxury, relaxation and adventure with a local touch that's guaranteed to please everyone in your group. Book with us today and we promise that you will love this trip as much as we do!

FREQUENTLY ASKED BEACH DAY QUESTIONS:
How Does It Work?
We will shuttle your group to a nearby island where we have set everything up before your arrival. It takes 10-15 minutes to shuttle to the island and return to collect the next group. We can take up to six passengers on each boat. Once your group is settled in, we can begin tubing, dolphin watching and more. You will have full access to our captain/instructors for the duration of your time on the island.
Can we put more than six passengers on a boat?
The Coast Guard limits most vessels to the Captain and crew plus six passengers per vessel. This regulation holds regardless of the size of the passengers. Vessels that can legally hold more than six passengers for hire must be custom built and go through a lengthy and expensive certification process which can be cost-prohibitive for small businesses.
The shuttling process is fairly quick and easy and it will not cut into your time. Typically there are a few people in every group that opt for the second shuttle to give them more time on land to get organized, use the facilities, etc. If you have a larger group, we can begin shuttling up to 30 minutes early. You will have the option to book two vessels for your party, when available.

Are there specific itineraries to choose from?
We find that the best itineraries arise organically based on the interests of your group on a given day, with just a little prompting from our captains. We'll figure out what everyone wants to do and suggest the best way to fit everything in based on your interests, the conditions and the time we have available.
How much time should we book?
We can book 4-6 hours. The most common Deluxe Beach Day is 5 hours.
Are there Restrooms on the island?
While there are no facilities on the island, the captain can take a group back to the restrooms at the marina, just minutes away, at any time.
Can we fish?
Our vessels do not carry a commercial fishing license, however, if you would like to fish off the beach you are welcome to bring your own equipment and license.
Where do we Meet The Boat?
You will meet the boat at Caxambas Boat Park, 909 Collier Court, Marco Island, FL 34145. The Caxambas Park has free parking, restrooms and a small convenience store with drinks, ice, snacks and sundries.
Which Island will we go to?
We typically go to Dickman's Island, just south of Marco Island. Dickman's Island is only accessible by boat, so it's never crowded, yet it's still conveniently close to the marina for faster shuttling and access to the facilities. It's also among our favorite shelling islands, and the best spot to find sand dollars at low tide. It's fairly shallow off the main beach, making it a safer place for kids to swim. We feel that Dickman's Island is the best marriage of exclusivity and convenience for most trips, but if you have a different spot in mind, we will be happy to work with you.
Which activities do you recommend?
The most popular Beach Day activities are tubing, shelling and dolphin watching. Depending on your group, we may want to do more in-depth exploration and search for wildlife, or add wakeboarding or waterskiing lessons.
CAN WE WAKEBOARD AND WATERSKI?
Yes! We will be happy to take you and even to teach you how to wakeboard or waterski on your Beach Day. Keep in mind that each new wakeboarder or waterskier needs about 30 minutes of dedicated attention to get up for the first time. We love to teach but, if you have a large group of kids, the most efficient way to keep them all happy and occupied is to take them tubing.
What happens if the weather is BAd?
You will never be charged if the weather does not cooperate. We will do our best to reschedule your trip, but if it doesn't work out you won't be charged a penny. Remember to book earlier in your stay to allow the possibility of rescheduling, and please give us a call if you have any concerns about the weather on your scheduled day.
When is the best time to book?
We recommend that you book early in your vacation and early in the day so we can push back to schedule around bad weather. If you would like to take advantage of the best shelling, you will want to book close to low tide.
Can we book more than one boat?
When available, you can book two boats for some or all of your trip. This is an excellent option for larger groups, as well as groups with wakeboarders and water skiers.
WHAT SHOULD WE BRING?
You can prepare as you would for a normal beach day. Bring towels, cameras, sunscreen, bathing suits and sun glasses. We recommend wearing shoes on the beach while shelling, so flip flops or water shoes are suggested. It's a great idea to bring a reusable bag for collecting seashells as well!
